Every Day is a Holiday
“Every day’s a holiday.” That’s what he always said. He even followed it
with, “twice on Sunday.”
While it may not seem to us that February 19th was a holiday, much less
twice of one, it was. February 19th was a holiday to Jack Windle who said
goodbye to the hard things of this world, and it was a holiday for God, Who
welcomed His son home, for eternity.
In the midst of his illness and his going on, for that is what it was, we
were blessed by so many. Thank you for all of the cards, food, visits, phone
calls, flowers, memorial contributions, words of encouragement and prayers.
As we stood as a family for his visitation, we were humbled by so many that
came and waited patiently in line to grieve along with us.
Throughout the whole difficult process, Speck Funeral Home went above and
beyond as you ministered to us in a professional yet personal manner.
Craig Green, you inspired all of us at the memorial service. You took the
things of Jack that you knew first hand, wove them together with stories
from family and friends, and gave us a picture of blood covenant that
honored both Jack and the Lord. We will never forget your words or the man
that taught us that “the truth always works.” Thank you for getting to know
Jack in those last months and for looking him in the eye.
In the words of Little Tree, “next time will be better.”
Make every day a holiday,
The Family of Jack Windle
